Acceptance in the workplace

Acceptance in the workplace

When they leave school, too few autistic young people carry on into further education, employment, or training. Only 29% of autistic people are in full or part-time employment.

Small adjustments in employment practices and workplace environments can make a big difference to autistic people’s experience at work. Often the most common adjustments made for autistic employees are low or no cost to employers, such as changes to working hours, communication methods, or extra support.

This World Autism Acceptance Month, autistic young people have shared their advice on how to make these small changes.
